Wine and Bistro February Red &
Cheerful Six-pack $82.80
- 2022 Guardian Cellars Newsprint
Columbia Valley $20 Newsprint is
Guardian Cellars' 2nd label, many of
the same vineyard sources and Jerry's
amazing wine making, just at slightly
lower price point. Newsprint Red is a
blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and
Cabernet Franc with lesser amounts of
Merlot and Petit Verdot. This wine
features ripe fruit with hints of
vanilla and toasted oak on the nose.
The palate is super juicy, full of
ripe dark berry, black cherry, and
plum jam flavors; these delicious
fruits are complemented by a
sprinkling of tannins aimed to give
great structure to this wine.
- 2021 Borsao Tres Picos Spain $19
“This deeply hued wine offers a
bouquet of cassis, black cherry,
cedar, and toasty spice. Spice notes
carry onto the palate and are joined
by downy tannins that come bearing
cherry, raspberry, milk chocolate,
espresso, and violet. It is a true
delight on the taste buds right down
to the lengthy finish.” Best Buy

Eco Goru Verde Organic Jumilla
Monastrell shows a black cherry with
purple violet hues. Clean, fragrant
with a bouquet of spices, violets, and

- 2022 La Quercia Montepulciano
d’Abruzzo, Italy $12 The nose is tart
and earthy, with aromas of black
cherry, blackberries, topsoil, root
beer and fennel. The berries turn
juicier on the palate against licorice
candy, and tannins and acid bring a
ferociousness that gives this wine a
tense, lively overall feel.
- 2020 Kiona Columbia Valley Red blend
$16 The 2020 Kiona Columbia Valley Red
is celebrated for its balanced
complexity and depth. Dark fruits such
as blackberry, black cherry, and plum,
accented by subtle hints of spice,
cocoa, and a whisper of vanilla from
gentle oak aging.
- NV Marrietta Old Vines Zinfandel $13
Typically noted for its concentrated
and layered profile that speaks to the
character of
old-vine vineyards. Rich bouquet of
ripe black fruits such as blackberry,

- 2023 Sohm & Kracher Grüner
Veltliner Austria $18 One Liter bottle
Screw Cap easy opening! With the
introduction of this surprisingly
sophisticated liter bottling Sohm
& Kracher explore a third terroir
for Grüner veltliner. While the Lion
is sourced entirely from Weinviertel,
the fruit for this bottling is grown
entirely in Illmitz, opposite Lake
Neusiedl from the Leithaberg hill
where the soils are more sand. This
stainless steel Grüner Veltliner is a
mineral focused expression, incredibly
easy to drink with austere depth.
- 2023 La Solitude White Cotes du
Rhone, France $15. This wine is a
blend of three varietals. The
Clairette brings the freshness and
zest of citrus, the Viognier the
aromatic depth and roundness, and the
Grenache the notes of white flowers.
The grapes are harvested early in the
morning and completely destemmed. The
fermentation in stainless-steel vats
preserves the full aromatic freshness.
The wine has a nose of citrus and
apricots, a round and generous
mouthfeel, and a fresh and flavorful
finish.
- 2023 Chateau Haut-Rian White
Bordeaux, France$12. Old Sémillon
vines grown on limestone soil form the
background to this wine. With
pineapple aromas and a mineral
texture, the wine's fruit is full of
grapefruit and kiwi flavors. It is
crisp, ripe, and ready to drink ALC

or anytime and just a glass! Bone-dry
with notes of pear, citrus, and green
flavors. It has a lively, zesty
acidity typical of the region's white
wines. Farming: Organic Always a top
pick for me.
- 2018 Storypoint Chardonnay
California $16 "Luscious and silky,
Storypoint Chardonnay amplifies the
fruit-forward expression of the
variety. The aroma opens with hints of
ripe apple and honeysuckle while notes
of white peach, Asian pear and ginger
deliver a deliciously refreshing
taste. With accents of vanilla and
caramel, each glass is rich on the
palate." ~Winemaker Notes
- 2023 Lady Hill Pinot Gris, Oregon
$15 An aromatic procession of
passionfruit and Meyer lemon embraces
the delicate floral side of
honeysuckle and white flowers. Bright

mouthfeel indicates almost no
malolactic conversion, displaying the
crisp refreshing acidity of Granny
Smith apples.
