  • Santiam Wine & Bistro Hot summer nights Red C & C $77.40 Mix them up if you like!
    • 2022 Burle Estate Ce Que Vaucluse Rouge, France $13. Domaine Burle is a cracking Gigondas producer and this is their 'little' Vin de Pays, so labelled because the vineyard sits just outside the Gigondas appellation and while the blend is classically predominately Grenache it also includes some on the new varieties Marselan and Caladoc. Burle is run by brothers Damien and Florent and their wines have a rustic bent with no destemming of the bunches resulting in wines with fruit and guts. Lots of lifted dark berry aromas lead onto a fruity palate with notes of dark cherry, touches of wild herbs, and a nice bit of a spicy kick. Organic, native soils.
    • 2021 Cellier des Dauphins Reserve Cotes du Rhone $13. This wine offers an intense garnet hue and natural aromas of ripe blackcurrants, characteristic of the Grenache varietal. The Syrah brings red fruit freshness and notes of violet to the blend. This organic wine shows a lovely smoothness and intensity.
    • 2016 River Run Red, Croft Vineyard, Willamette Vallley $13. After many blending trials in the winery, our most approachable and exciting Pinot Noir edition was born. Combining our three favorite Pinot Noir clones: Wädenswil, Pommard and 115. Flavors of strong black and red cherry with hints of plums and strawberries. Salmon, bacon, mushrooms and any game bird pairs well with this award-winning wine.
    • 2022 Honoro Vera, Monastrell Spain $12 Organic Grapes. Complex nose of ripe plums and rich red fruit, combined with licorice and fig characters. On the palate, the wine is generous, rich, and spicy – weighty with good, concentrated red and black fruit, fine tannins, and fresh acidity on the finish.
    • 2021 Scaia Rosso, Vento IGT Italy $15. Floral aroma of red roses and pansies, fruity aroma of cherries, sour cherries, plums, greengages, woodland berries such as blackberries, redcurrants and blackcurrants, raspberries. Well balanced, tangy and fresh. Intense and with a good body despite its young lightness. 100% Covina
    • 2018 Corliss Secret Squirrel Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla, WA. $20. An outstanding vintage in Washington = more fantastic raw materials available for Secret Squirrel. A delicious medley of red and black fruits, tobacco, cedar, hints of dark chocolate and attractive barrel spice make for an outsized value. Really, it's more than we can reasonably expect for a Washington Cabernet at this price. As if we need a "plus," since it's Corliss this had extra time in both barrel and bottle before release (what kind of Washington Cab at this price spends 22 months in barrel? the answer is no other!) so this squirrel is simply singing now. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot.

  • Santiam Wine & Bistro September White Cheap & Cheerful $83.70 - after your 10% discount
    • 2023 Bodega Colomé Torrontés Calchaqui Valley, Argentina $14 This version is subtly floral, with hints of geranium and dried rose hip on a smooth-textured palate of mandarin orange and dried pineapple, with just enough acidity to pick up the flavors and carry them onto the finish around a lingering note of candied lemon peel. Drink now. 90 Points Wine Spectator
    • 2022 Umani Ronchi Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Villa Bianchi, Italy $12 Verbena and fresh hay notes accent the ripe yellow plum and crushed almond flavors in this balanced, light-bodied white, with hints of white pepper and graphite. Lively finish. Drink now. 88 Points Wine Spectator 12.5 % Alc
    • 2023 Raza Vinho Verde D.O.C. Portugal $12 A cheerful, translucid, lemon-yellow, and slightly pétillant white wine, Vinho Verde means ‘green wine’ and named after the northwest Portuguese region from which it originates. The ‘green’ in the name refers to the youthful state in which the wines are customarily released and consumed, not the color of the wine. It is typically a blend of various percentages of Alvarinho, Loureiro, Trajadura, and Pedernã (Arinto). Following initial alcoholic fermentation, a natural, secondary malolactic conversion in cask produces carbon dioxide, giving Vinho Verde its charmingly light sparkle. 11.5 % Alc.
    • 2021 McBride Sisters Chardonnay Central Coast, CA $15 Creamy and lush, with flavors of lemon meringue, lemon curd and crème anglaise that show accents of marmalade and apricot pastry, plus fresh grace notes of tangerine, candied ginger and toasted, buttery brioche. A fresh thread of acidity keeps all the flavors in focus. Drink now. 90 Points Wine Spectator 13.5 % Alc.
    • 2023 Lamblin & Fils Bourgogne Blanc, France $20 When you taste it, you could easily take Lamblin’s Bourgogne Blanc for Chablis. In price, however, it bears no resemblance at all. A can’t-miss member-favorite offering mouthwatering lemon curd and juicy pear accented by wet stone, it’s an outstanding bargain. 12.5 Alc.
    • 2023 Hiruzta Txakolina Spain $20. Made from the Hondarrabi Zuri grape, grown in the winery’s own vineyards in Hondarribia and fermented at its state-of-the-art facility. Produced in at an exceptional winery equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Intense aromas of white (pear and apple), citrus (grapefruit) and tropical (pineapple and passion fruit) fruit aromas, also swathed with white flower (orange blossom) scents, all enhanced by the subtle release of the natural carbonic gas. It is very balanced and fresh, with a certain sense of spicy sparkle on the tongue and an integrated acidity. Pleasant on the palate, with a citrus and tropical aftertaste. Long and aromatic finish.
